CONNECTTNE – MATCHMAKING WORKSHOP: TNE CONNECTION AND PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT | PROMOTING TRANSNATIONAL EDUCATION COOPERATION BETWEEN VIETNAM AND THE UNITED KINGDOM
🌍 On May 26, 2026, at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), ConnectTNE – Matchmaking Workshop: TNE Connection and Partnership Development took place successfully, gathering more than 40 universities and higher education institutions from Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
The program was attended by nearly 80 delegates, including leaders of universities, representatives of international cooperation departments, and units in charge of partnership development from both countries. This is a practical networking forum, creating a space for exchange, sharing, and expanding cooperation opportunities in the field of transnational education (TNE).

Through more than 180 1-to-1 exchange sessions, the representatives from participating institutions discussed many potential areas of cooperation, including:
🔹 Joint programs, dual degrees, and franchise training
🔹 Credit transfer and articulation pathways
🔹 Co-development of curricula and joint teaching
🔹 Student, faculty, and staff exchange
🔹 Research cooperation and innovation
🔹 Other transnational education cooperation models

📌 Speaking at the opening of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy – Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam emphasized that ConnectTNE is "a timely and practical initiative", demonstrating the strong potential for cooperation between Vietnamese and UK higher education institutions in the field of transnational education. The workshop also reflects the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, which emphasizes the requirements to improve the quality of higher education, promote international integration, innovation, and strengthen global connectivity.

Not just stopping at networking activities, ConnectTNE aims to build a foundation for more substantive and sustainable partnerships between universities of the two countries. The long-term value of the program will be reflected through new opportunities for learners: international training programs, academic exchanges, global learning experiences, and future career orientation.
In the coming time, the UK–Vietnam EmpowerTNE Network will continue to coordinate with educational institutions to follow up on the post-workshop results, promote the initiated exchanges, and step-by-step realize them into concrete cooperative activities.
ConnectTNE is one of the five strategic pillars of the UK–Vietnam EmpowerTNE Network, a network that currently gathers 14 official member higher education institutions of Vietnam, aiming to enhance transnational education cooperation with UK higher education institutions through five pillars: TrainTNE, NetworkTNE, ConnectTNE, ActTNE, and ThinkTNE.
