As a member of the UK–Viet Nam EmpowerTNE Network, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE) has received information about the “Green Intelligence Challenge: Innovating with AI” organized by Phenikaa University.
To provide more learning and experiential opportunities for students, we would like to introduce this competition to HCM-UTE students. The competition aims to encourage students to apply artificial intelligence (AI), data, and digital technologies to solve real-world challenges in society, the environment, and education, contributing to sustainable development.

Students who wish to participate but have not yet formed a full team may contact the Institute of International Education for support in connecting with registered teams that are still seeking additional members.
Participation Regulations
Participating teams (consisting of 2 to 5 members) will engage in the following professional stages:
- Challenge Identification: Select a specific problem related to sustainable development (e.g., Environment, Education, Urban Planning, Energy, or Social Welfare).
- Solution Development: Propose an AI-driven solution characterized by both innovation and technical feasibility.
- Expert Defense: Present the conceptual framework and solution model before an International Jury.
Evaluation Criteria
- Innovation: The originality and sophistication of the AI application.
- Feasibility: The practical implementation potential of the solution within existing resource constraints.
- Sustainable Impact: The positive social value generated and the potential for scalability.
- Presentation Skills: Critical thinking capabilities and the ability to persuasively communicate ideas to the Jury.
Competition Phases
The competition consists of three primary rounds:
- Round 1: SPARK THE IDEA (Deadline: May 22, 2026): Submission of the concept proposal, illustrative prototypes, and team profiles.
- Round 2: SHAPE THE SOLUTION (June 1 – June 20, 2026): Mentorship sessions with international experts to refine and optimize the proposed solutions.
- Round 3: MAKE THE IMPACT (Tentatively scheduled for the first two weeks of July 2026): The Final Showcase, featuring live presentations and competition before the International Jury.
Awards
- First Prize: £2,000 Cash Prize & Certificate awarded by the British Council.
- Second Prize: £1,000 Cash Prize & Certificate awarded by the British Council
- Third Prize: £500 Cash Prize & Certificate awarded by the British Council
