From February 23rd to 27th, 2026, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology & Engineering (HCM-UTE) and the Institute of International Education (IIE) is in Hong Kong (China), actively engaging in strategic activities at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference and Exhibition.

A World-Class Educational Event
APAIE is one of the region's most prestigious annual forums for higher education. In 2026, the event has reached a record-breaking scale, welcoming 3,000 delegates who represent over 500 universities and educational organizations from 70 countries and territories. This conference serves not only as a platform for sharing advanced university governance practices but also as a dynamic hub for forging global partnerships.

Vietnam's Mark and HCM-UTE's Position
A special highlight of this year’s APAIE is the impressive presence of the Vietnamese education sector. For the first time, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), a delegation comprising 17 major universities—including HCM-UTE—and various educational organizations officially inaugurated the Vietnam Education Pavilion on February 23rd, 2026. This milestone strongly affirms the nation's message of global integration.

The HCM-UTE representatives actively participating and working at the event include:
Mr. Pham Bach Duong, MEng. MBA Senior Lecturer - Head of the International Relations Office, Director of the Institute of International Education (IIE)
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huy Tuan - Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education (IIE)

Opening Doors to Global Integration for Students
Throughout the conference, the leadership of IIE and the International Relations Office have participated in a series of in-depth panel discussions and conducted bilateral meetings with strategic partners. The primary focus of this mission is to showcase HCM-UTE's robust academic capabilities while advancing agreements on:
International Joint-Training Programs
Student and Faculty Exchange Programs
Multinational Scientific Research Collaboration

HCM-UTE’s presence at APAIE 2026 is a clear testament to the university's comprehensive internationalization strategy. It directly realizes the directive of Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy (Director General of the International Cooperation Department, MOET): “Vietnam is resolute in its deep integration into the global educational landscape.”

IIE is confident that the strong connections and agreements forged in Hong Kong today will unlock a multitude of world-class learning opportunities, empowering HCM-UTE students to step onto the global stage in the near future.
