🎓 [RECAP] WORKSHOP:GOING GLOBAL TO LOCAL STUDENTS 2026

OPENING PATHWAYS TO INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION FOR VIETNAMESE STUDENTS

On the morning of March 28, 2026, Institute of International Education – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (IIE-HCM-UTE) successfully organized the workshop titled “International Study Opportunities for Vietnamese Students.”

 

 

The event attracted the participation of more than 200 parents, pupils, and students, serving as an important platform to strengthen connections between the University and its international education partners.

 



The workshop was honored by the presence of university leaders, representatives of affiliated units, and distinguished guests from both domestic and international partner institutions.

From HCM-UTE, attendees included:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, Vice President; Pham Bach Duong, M.Eng. MBA - Director, Institute of International Education -  Director of the Office of International Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huy Tuan - Vice Director, Institute of International Education; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang An Quoc - Vice Director, Institute of International Education; Dr. Duong Tuan Tung - Dean, Faculty of Advanced Education; Dr. Tran Quang Tri -  Vice Dean, Faculty of Advanced Education.

Representatives from partner universities and organizations included: Ms. Amy Phuong - Regional Manager for Indochina, University of Sunderland (UK); Ms. Le Thi Cam Tu - Education Counsellor, TMC Academy (Singapore); Mr. Dennis Kim - Marketing Manager, Office of International Relations, Tongmyong University (Korea); Mr. Seo Hyung Suk- Head of Admissions, Tongmyong University (Korea); Prof. Dr. Ilkhom Irisboev-Head of International Relations, Kyungdong University (Korea); Mr. Murray -Manager of International Relations, Kyungdong University (Korea); Dr. Tran Thi Thuy Hang - Adjunct Associate Professor, Faculty of Communication Sciences and Disorders, University of Alberta, and Instructor at the Child Trauma Research Centre, University of Regina (Canada); Ms. Tram Doan - Global Recruitment Manager, Hawaii Pacific University (USA); Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hien- Representative of the Saxony Liaison Office (Germany); Ms. Pham Thi Ly Thu Thao-Program Manager (Southern Region), Duc Anh EduConnect; Mr. Truong Ngoc Hai- Study Abroad Consultant, Duc Anh EduConnect; Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai-Deputy Director, Dong A Korean Language Center, HCM-UTE.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, Vice President, emphasized the critical role of international education in the context of global integration and reaffirmed the University’s strategic direction in expanding international cooperation.

Following this, Pham Bach Duong, M.Eng, MBA, Director of the Institute of International Education, delivered an introductory speech highlighting global study trends and opportunities for Vietnamese students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huy Tuan, Vice Director, Institute of International Education also provided detailed insights into international joint programs and updated admissions information for 2026.

The program continued with presentations from international partner institutions, offering participants valuable insights into academic environments in developed countries, program structures, admission requirements, as well as scholarship and global career opportunities. These practical perspectives enabled attendees to better understand their options and make informed decisions regarding their study pathways.

The workshop also encouraged active engagement through live Q&A sessions and one-on-one consultations, allowing students to receive personalized guidance on academic programs, visa procedures, admission requirements, and career orientation.

💙 The workshop “Going global for local students 2026” once again affirmed the role of the Institute of International Education – HCM-UTE as a vital bridge connecting Vietnamese students with advanced education systems worldwide.
